Getting Sober in Texas

Texas is a horse of all different colors. We’ve got huge metropolitan areas, endless miles of desert, Rocky Mountains, hills, swamps, coast lines, and wide stretches of farmland. We’ve also got a colorful mix of people: immigrants, native Texans, out-of-staters, German populations, and African-Americans just to name a few. The same goes for addiction. We’ve got all different colors of addiction: youth, baby boomers, those below the poverty line and those above it. People suffer from addiction from all kinds of different substances as well, from alcohol, marijuana, and tobacco, to harsh street drugs, and doctor prescribed pain pills. It’s all here in our massive state. With huge cities like Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, El Paso, and Amarillo, we’ve got hundreds of thousands of people out there struggling with addictions of different varieties.

The bright side is that we also have one of the most comprehensive networks of detox, sober living, therapy, and medical institutions in the nation. Major players agree. The Fix deemed Houston one of the “10 Best Recovery Cities” in the U.S. – but there’s a whole lot more going on in Texas in addition to the good things happening in Houston.

At Hickory Wind, we offer the unique service of catering to our clients’ creative side. When addiction takes control of your life, you lose the ability to be a passionate individual. Having passions and drive in life are one of the key behavioral traits of successful, satisfied people, and we try to get our clients back to a stable and motivated way of living absent of crippling addictions. Hickory Wind Ranch is here to help, and if you’re interested in getting help, please contact us below.
