Letters from the Ranch

Happy Wednesday! Every now and then we like to put inspiring letters from friends and family of past residents on the blog with their permission. Today’s letter comes from a mother of a former resident. Thanks for the kind words!!!

Dear Polly –

It was such a pleasure to finally meet you last Saturday. Ryan has spoken so much about you and the wornderful work you are doing for those people who are suffering from substance abuse in Austin. I want you to know that it has been nothing short of a miraculous turnaround for Ryan. You and your staff provided him with a safe, strong, caring environment – One in which he could deal with the demons that had controlled his life for so many years. You are just a little person who seems so kind but you have great wisdom and strength. You know how to fight these addiction with just the right things to say and the tools to provide to your house guests.

You also offer great comfort to family members who are baffled by the disease and trying to hard to help their loved ones. I was so grateful for the words of advice you gave me during the first 30, then 60, and finally 90 days of Ryan’s treatment. The more you encouraged me to back off, the more confidence Ryan gained in himself. He just passed 7 months of sobriety for which you can take immense credit.

Your program has changed our lives and provided Ryan with a new path to follow. I have never seen him happier or healthier. Thank you, Polly. If there is any way I may help you, please let me know. You have saved another life. God bless you.
